April 18, 2018

The local Goodwill, Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc. (“Goodwill”), excitedly announces plans to bring its new retail store model and updated donor experience to the North Canton community.  The new Goodwill store, located at 1230 North Main Street (on the corner of North Main and Applegrove), will grand open to the public on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 9 a.m.

“Goodwill is eager to open the doors to our newest retail store, here in North Canton,” Anne Richards, Goodwill Industries President and CEO, said. “We have a rich history serving this community, and we’re excited to bring such a positive shopping and donating experience to North Canton.”

Shoppers and donors at Goodwill’s newest retail store will experience a fresh exterior and contemporary retail atmosphere, creating a positive experience, while supporting Goodwill’s mission of providing job training, placement, and support in the communities it serves.

“Goodwill’s new North Canton retail store will shatter traditional thrift shop stereotypes and challenge the community to think differently about shopping at Goodwill,” said Mary Moriarty, Goodwill Vice President of Retail Operations. “We want everyone to shop at Goodwill and support our mission, and that means adopting a retail model that encourages and invites people to shop at our stores.”

Goodwill has partnered with real estate experts Robert Gamperl of Berengaria Development and Sean Sanford of CBRE Group Inc., to skillfully select this new store and donation site location, and design and build stores with innovative retail flair that today’s savvy retail shopper has come to expect and enjoy.

The current North Canton Goodwill retail store located at 954 South Main Street will remain open for business until Friday, April 20, 2018. Additionally, the Goodwill attended donation center located within the Acme Fresh Market parking lot on Main Street in North Canton is closed. Donors can now donate all large furniture donations at the new Goodwill North Canton retail store and donation center location.
