What is Wired Up?
Wired Up is a program of Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio. Donated items including electronics, games, game consoles, cameras, tablets, computer accessories, and more are sold through the Wired Up program. Proceeds from the sale of items through Wired Up and the rest of Goodwill stores support local employment and training programs that help people in our community.
Where can I shop Wired Up?
Ask an associate where to find Wired Up items in the following stores: Strongsville, Eastlake, Mayfield, Painesville, and Foxboro/Jackson Township.
Why shop Wired Up?
Wired Up diverts thousands of cords, cables, computers, metal and other technological materials from the landfill. At the same time, Wired Up offers a low-cost option for desktop computers, laptops, and other accessories to customers in the Cleveland and Canton metropolitan area.
Plus, all funds generated from this program directly supports Goodwill’s employment and training services.
What can be donated?
Goodwill accepts donations of computers, laptops, electronics, games, game consoles, cameras, tablets, computer accessories, cell phones and more. Proceeds from the sale of Wired Up items and the rest of Goodwill stores support local employment and training programs that help people in our community.
How is my computer data protected?
Wired Up safely removes any data from all computer donations. It provides individuals with a free method of disposing of any unwanted computer materials. All computers go to a centralized area to be erased with 1 pass of zeros written to each drive. Flash memory devices are returned to a factory state.
Goodwill is a Microsoft Third Party Refurbisher.
What is the exchange policy?
All equipment is tested before being sold at Goodwill stores. Computer accessories, audio-visual cables, networking cables, adapters, and items that do not contain a microprocessor are non-refundable, but Goodwill will honor an exchange of like items. Wired Up offers a guarantee on software-related components such as driver installation and operating system functionality for 30 days. Equipment must be exchanged at the site it was purchased.
