At Goodwill, it is our job to help individuals overcome barriers to getting and keeping good jobs. Our employment skills programming boils down to two key areas: Pre-employment Training and Job Placement Services.
Pre-Employment Services

Vocational Evaluation
Testing to help individuals decide which type of job is best for them based on skills and interests. Testing for vision-impaired individuals is also available.

Career Exploration
Utilizes current labor market information, interviewing, job shadowing, and site visits to identify realistic opportunities that match personal interests.

Work Adjustment
Provides work skills instruction through temporary jobs aimed at enhancing the individual’s potential to maintain employment in the community.

Situational Assessment
Provides assessment and on-site feedback regarding work skills aimed at identifying vocational goals to improve chances of securing and maintaining community employment.

Digital Skills Training
Teaches basic online and computer skills including general use, typing, Microsoft Office, and Google Applied Digital Skills.

IT Certification
Individualized training providing participants with industry-recognized credentials for the IT industry.

Youth Transition Services
Provides school-aged youth with the skills necessary to transition to the world of work.

Comprehensive Case Management Employment Program
Employment skills training, work experience, and wrap-around support program for young adults looking to obtain community employment.
Job Placement Services

Job Seeking Skills Training
Teaches résumé writing, application completion, and interviewing techniques.

Job Development
Assists in the full scope of employment-related needs, from job search to employment retention. This program can be tailored to ex-offenders.

Job Coaching Services
Provides a Job Coach to work side-by-side with individuals teaching job skills and appropriate work behaviors. Job Fairs – Goodwill hosts job fairs with area employers looking to hire.

Hiring Events
Goodwill hosts and partners to provide on-the-spot interviews for individuals looking to obtain employment.

Job Club
Provides ongoing motivation and group support while reinforcing and improving job-seeking skills.

Employment G.P.S.
This program provides Goal, Planning, and Support (G.P.S.) and includes long-term, intensive case management support focused on helping achieve goals of employment and education.
