Goodwill in Urgent Need of Donations
February 23, 2021 – Goodwill of Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio is urgently asking the public to make a special effort to donate housewares to their nearest Goodwill store. Housewares include pots, pans, dishes, kitchen gadgets, small appliances, home décor, seasonal items, toys, baskets, pottery, etc.
The recent snowfall and cold weather have had a detrimental impact on donations.
“We are always prepared for the annual slowdown of donations during the winter months,” said Bryant Taylor, VP of Donated Goods. “However, because of the severe conditions over the last few weeks, we are extremely low on household items.”
“Revenue from our stores serve as the primary funder of outreach programs that Goodwill offers like employment services, family strengthening programs, rape crisis services and other community outreach,” Taylor said.
Donations may be dropped off at any local Goodwill store or Attended Donation Center. To find the nearest drop-off location, visit our locations page.
For the safety of donors and Goodwill employees, each Goodwill location requires face masks when donating and shopping.
