Home school.

Whatever school looks like this fall, one thing is certain: your kids are growing and will need clothes.

Budgets are tight these days, though. It’s important when purchasing back to school clothes and supplies that you can make your dollar stretch.

This year, Goodwill is offering deep discounts for back to school shopping. August 7-9, stores in the Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio region will be offering 25% off all apparel. This is the same weekend that tax free shopping is offered in the state of Ohio. The Weirton, WV store will offer 25% off apparel, but there is no tax holiday in West Virginia during that time.

“Goodwill prices are typically 50-90% less than large retailers,” explained Vice President of Donated Goods Bryant Taylor. “This is a special sale that will help families during this difficult year.”

Goodwill carries a variety of new and donated goods including jeans, uniforms, backpacks, shoes and housewares.

“Whether its dorm essentials you need or shoes for gym class, Goodwill is a great option for families who are looking to save,” added Taylor. “And, all purchases support a network of programs that help thousands in our community.”

During the COVID-19 crisis, local Goodwill stores closed. The stores served as the primary funder of outreach programs that Goodwill offers like employment services, family strengthening programs, rape crisis services and other community outreach. Despite the shutdown, mission services continued.

No coupon is needed for the apparel sale August 7-9, but customers must be a member of the Good Points rewards program to receive the discount. The Good Points program is free to sign up at the register. The 25% apparel discount is available August 7-9 during regular business hours only at Goodwill’s 22 area retail locations. The discount does not apply to purchases made at the Goodwill Outlet store.

Goodwill does require face masks when shopping in the stores. For details about this COVID-19 precaution and other shopping guidelines, click here
