Upcycle Christmas Ornaments into a Tree

Looking for an easy upcycle project that results in a festive decoration for your mantel? Look no farther.

With a few supplies, a little bit of free time and some creativity, you can make your own ornament tree.

You’ll need 15 round ornaments — preferably the same size, a glue gun and a sturdy base of your choice. Goodwill is the perfect spot to find cheap ornaments and a base. Either a block of wood or piece of acrylic would make an ideal base, but you can use whatever you have that will fit five ornaments.

If you’re using an assortment of ornaments, you’ll want to arrange the ornaments first to see what looks best. Once you’ve decided on an arrangement, the fun can begin.

Add a dab of hot glue to the center of the base and add the first ornament. From there, add two ornaments to each side, once again using hot glue on the base.

For the next row, add a dab of hot glue to the lower-level ornaments where the next ornament will touch them. You’ll continue this until you add the last ornament to the top. It’s easiest to add the hot glue, place the ornament and hold it till it’s secure.

You can add twinkling lights to the finished tree or leave it as is. You can make a forest of trees using different sized ornaments. The possibilities are endless!
