Table of Hope Reopens

WEIRTON, OH – September 11, 2020 – Table of Hope, a hot meal site located in Weirton, West Virginia, will reopen to the public on Monday, September 14 at 5pm.

Table of Hope has been serving the needs of Brooke and Hancock Counties since 2012 and has served more than 50,000 meals to the community. All are welcome at the meal site; there are no income guidelines, fees or questions asked. Table of Hope operates out of First United Methodist Church located at 3301 West Street in Weirton.

Table of Hope is a collective effort; relying on staff, volunteers, area businesses and organizations to help provide this vital service. It is a partner agency with the Mountaineer Food Bank.

Typically, meals are served two times each week. Following local guidance for COVID-19 safety, meals will only be served on Mondays from 5-6pm for now.

In early 2020, Table of Hope became an affiliate of Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio. Goodwill has traditionally served Brooke and Hancock Counties with pre-employment and job placements services. The non-profit agency is a proven social enterprise which works to generate revenue from its retail stores and then invest those funds into outreach programs like Table of Hope.
