Individuals and Community Organizations Recognized at Goodwill’s Power of Work
CLEVELAND, OH – November 10, 2021 – Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc. (Goodwill) honored participants Jeanne Fiozzo and Pedro Cotto for outstanding accomplishments in overcoming barriers to employment at a virtual event this morning.
The Power of Work event is an annual event that allows the local Goodwill to recognize achievements of participants, staff and area businesses from the greater Cleveland area. This year’s event was held virtually, with nearly 120 attendees logging in to celebrate and participate.
“This event provides us the opportunity to share the success of our participants and recognize the outstanding work of area businesses and community leaders.,” said Anne Richards, President and CEO of Goodwill. “Although we opted not to meet in-person this year, it was still a wonderful way to celebrate those that make a difference in our community.”
Goodwill participants Jeanne Fiozzo and Pedro Cotto were honored with the Achiever of the Year and Edgar J. Helms Award, respectively.
Employer of the Year award recipient Winking Lizard was honored for the organization’s commitment to hire people with disabilities and provide opportunities for vocational rehabilitation through Goodwill Industries.
Goodwill Employment Specialist Leslie Bendter was presented with the Ken Weber Servant Leader award. This award, named after former Goodwill CEO Ken Weber is awarded to one Goodwill staff member who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to servant leadership.
And, MAGNET: The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network was honored as the Collaborative Partner of the Year. MAGNET has been a valuable local partner to Goodwill, bringing together a variety of workforce agencies to better serve the residents of Cuyahoga County.
