Goodwill to host Power of Work Breakfast on October 19

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio will honor participants and businesses of the greater Cleveland area at the Power of Work community breakfast on Thursday, October 19.

Goodwill’s annual Power of Work Breakfast and Awards Celebration recognizes the accomplishments of local individuals who have found personal success through Goodwill and showcases the partnerships Goodwill has with so many remarkable businesses and organizations.

This year’s event will feature guest speaker, Ned Helms, MA, who is the grandson of Rev. Edgar J. Helms, the founder of the Goodwill movement. He previously served as the Board President for Goodwill Industries International.

Helms currently serves on the Goodwill Industries of Northern New England board. He retired as director of the New Hampshire Institute for Health Policy and Practice at the University of New Hampshire, a position he held since 2001. Helms has more than 30 years of experience in health policy and politics. He holds a master’s degree in American government from the University of New Hampshire.

The emcee for the breakfast will be Stephanie Haney, of WKYC-TV. Haney is a national and regional Emmy-winning host, producer, lawyer and legal analyst whose videos have been viewed millions of times across Facebook Watch and YouTube.

Currently, she hosts 3News Daily every weekday at 3pm as part of NBC News Daily, which is broadcast on TV, NBC NewsNOW, Peacock, WKYC+ and on all podcast platforms. She also produces and hosts a legal analysis segment called Legally Speaking, and live interviews, both in-studio and in the field.

The community breakfast will be held at 8am at the Corporate College East, located at 4400 Richmond Rd. in Warrensville Heights. Registration begins at 7:30am.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase online at GoodwillGoodSkills.org/RSVP for $30 per person. The Power of Work event is sponsored by USI Insurance Services.
