Goodwill Thanks for Giving Donation Drive Starts November 1

Canton, OH – October 28, 2021 –‘Tis the season for giving, and several area businesses are encouraging their staff and customers to join in the giving! Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, in partnership with Q92 is kicking off the Thanks for Giving donation drive Monday, November 1.

Now in its second year, Thanks for Giving is a community-wide donation drive that encourages area businesses to engage their employees and customers in material donation drives to benefit local social services.

Donation bins are set up in common areas of local businesses. Employees and customers are encouraged to donate clothing and housewares at these bins through November 24. Those donations are then sold in area Goodwill stores. Goodwill stores are in urgent need of these donations. Sales from the area stores support a comprehensive network of 28 mission programs; job training for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, parenting programs, rape crisis services, emergency vouchers and more.

Donate today at a local Goodwill store or donation center, or bring your donations to these participating area businesses:

“We are so appreciative and humbled by these businesses that have stepped up to be donation drop-off sites,” explained Community Material Donations Manager Colleen Porter. “We encourage the community to clean out their closets to make room for other items they may be receiving over the holidays. Goodwill helps thousands of people right here in our community, and donations of clothes and housewares from efforts like this make that all possible!”
