Whether you plan months in advance or aren’t ready for gift shopping until December, shopping thrift
is a great way to treat your loved ones to amazing gift giving on a dime.
I purchase the base items of the gift theme while thrifting and filling in with items from your local
grocery or dollar store is an easy way to pull it all together.
Go with a theme and create a list of items needed. Then head to your local Goodwill
Here are a few suggestions for gift giving on a dime!
For the Coffee Lovers:
Thrifted: Coffee canisters, French press, mugs, and plates tucked into a cute and reusable gingham
basket. Dollar store finds to fill in with these treasures would be cookies, ground coffee, coffee flavor,
and many other ideas.
Create a Charcuterie Board:
Go thrifting for an assortment of cutting boards, mini bowls, cheese spreaders, then visit your grocery store for organic oil, olives, and French bread. Fill in with nuts and other nonperishables. Dress it all up with greenery and ribbons to celebrate the season.
Family Taco Dinner Kit:
Go thrifting for baskets and containers. Then gather some fiesta ware, wooden spoons, pot holders, etc.
Fill in with grocery items of taco spices, refried beans, jalapenos, and taco shells. Tuck in a mini
Christmas tree with colorful ribbons, and you give with love. The luxury of having all the items to pull a
meal together for a busy family is a thoughtful gift. Throw in a gift card for the beef or chicken.
Holiday Baking Jar:
Go thrifting for a clear glass lidded canister or a cute cookie jar at Goodwill. I see them there all the time. Fill the jar with all the baking items you can think of, such as boxed cake mix, chocolate chips,
sprinkles, cupcake papers, and wooden spoons. Consider aprons, oven mitts, and anything you know your recipient would enjoy. This gift is especially great for a mom or grandma with little kiddos to
entertain with fun projects.
