Goodwill Carrollton Store Expands

The Goodwill Industries retail store and donation center in Carrollton is getting a facelift and expanding its sales floor to nearly double its current footprint.

Goodwill first opened a retail thrift store in Carrollton in 1998. Then in 2005, the store relocated to its current site at 709 Canton Road.

“We have received tremendous support from the Carrollton and Carroll County community at this location,” commented Vice President of Donated Goods Bryant Taylor. “This remodel and expansion will provide an even better shopping experience for our dedicated customers.”

The store will expand to include an adjoining space in the current plaza, formerly occupied by Aaron’s Rental. Construction began more than a week ago while the store remained open. Beginning Sunday, September 12, the store will close temporarily while new flooring is installed. The store is scheduled reopen on Monday, September 20. The donation center will remain open during construction, 8am to 4:30pm daily. The remodel should be complete by the beginning of October.

Sales generated from this and other area stores help fund 27 different local outreach programs. The local Goodwill Industries provides job training and placement for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, family strengthening programs, rapes crisis services and more. Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, which operates this store, serves 10 counties throughout Ohio and West Virginia.
